Summer Advocacy Groups for young people with a learning disability – Carn Brae, 5/8/19/26 Aug

Cornwall Advocacy logo

Cornwall Advocacy will be hosting Summer Advocacy Groups throughout the summer holidays for young people aged 11-18 years living in Cornwall with a learning disability.  Although these groups are open to all who meet that criteria, we are particularly trying to target the more excluded and isolated young people who perhaps have limited access to other opportunities and services.  These groups will be fun and interactive, involving art and drama, whilst building confidence and self-esteem to encourage self-advocacy.  It’s also a great chance for the young people to socialise and hopefully build some friendships amongst each other.  We have had some fantastic feedback from young people who have attended these groups previously, and these groups are often the highlight of their summer.   Spaces are limited, so booking is therefore essential.  All the groups will take place at Carn Brae Leisure Centre Hub Club, from 1 – 3.30pm, on the following dates: 5/8/15, 12/8/15, 19/8/15 and 26/8/15. Please feel free to contact me directly for more information and guidance on booking places.  And I would be very grateful if this email could be circulated amongst any one you work with who has contact with young people with learning disabilities.  My contact details are below.  Many thanks
