John Trott writes: I specialise in delivering training and consultancy in the areas of Domestic Abuse, Coercion and Control and Stalking and my mission both personally and professionally is to help victims of abuse directly or indirectly.
Many professionals and lay people do not understand the complexities of this type of abuse and why victims do not “just leave”. This is true and possibly even more so for those victims that have a faith and attend church. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men are victims of domestic abuse and this will be true within the church and therefore I believe it is very important for that to be understood.
I am hoping to attend to help churches and their leaders Cornwall and indeed other areas around the UK understand the complexities of this type of abuse and how they can best assist to safeguard those church members that may be experiencing it.Download Poster Download Flyer
