Falmouth Churches Together runs services once a month in three residential care homes and one residential home with individual flats. The homes covered are Trevern, King Charles, The White House and Chynampara. Each month a different denomination takes its turn with hymns, a prayer, a short bible reading and a message. The services last half an hour and afterwards there is a time for chat with the residents and their families. The services are not always run by clergy – other members of the various churches take part too.
It’s a privilege to be able to worship with residents who are unable to travel to church. These services are a time for fellowship, where people can sing hymns they haven’t sung in years. Some of the residents have been Christians for most of their lives, others are seeing the Lord Jesus through new eyes. There are all sorts of people at the services, including non-believers.
